March 23-27: Spring Break Railway Days

Join us during Spring Break Week 2020 for a different railroad-themed activity each day! Drop in programs at Elmhurst History Museum. No registration required except Elmhurst Public Library programs.

Monday, March 23: T-Trak Day
Time: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Head over to our Education Center to join the model train aficionados from Chicagoland T-Trak as they display their fascinating train train modules and innovative track layouts. Take home a coloring sheet and visit the the museum's exhibits on a typically-closed day.

Tuesday, March 24: Rise & Shine Storytime at Elmhurst Public Library
*Time: 9:15-9:45 a.m. and 11:30-12 p.m.

Ride the rails with lively stories and songs about trains! Pick up tickets with a valid Elmhurst Public Library card the morning of the program. Best for ages 2-5.

Wednesday, March 25: METRA Train Safety Presentation
Time: 10 a.m.
Mr. Larry Green METRA's Operation Lifesaver Train Safety Awareness Program will present a fun and interactive program for families about train safety. Limited space available, first come first served basis. Doors open at 9:30.

Thursday, March 26: Railroad Craft Day
Time: 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Drop in and get crafty in our Education Center! Participants can choose between creating a Morse code bracelet or their own railroad track art while supplies last. Visit the Museum to check out the "On the Right Track" exhibit, play with wooden trains at the train table, and use the telegraph equipment to send Morse code.

Friday, March 27: Rock the Rails Concert with the Hobo Queen
Time: 11 a.m.
Rock around the rails with the official 2004-2005 Hobo Queen, Dawn Diventi! Dawn will present a concert of railroad-themed music for families. Limited seating available on a first come, first served basis. Doors open at 10:30.
